This is a systematic review being undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the most prevalently used complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) interventions for treatment of back pain (BP). The review utilizes the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) process through its Evidence-Based Practice Centers (EPCs), and specifically a contract awarded to the University of Ottawa EPC to conduct the review.
